Hamster Hopper chapter 10
Welcome to Chapter 10 of the ‘Hamster Hopper’ podcast!
As morning light filters softly through the window, Frida
finds it difficult to open her eyes. The gentle rays of sunlight cast a
warm glow on her cage, but the thought of the busy day ahead makes it hard for
her to fully wake up.
She stretches her tiny limbs and lets out a small, sleepy
yawn, knowing that today will be filled with a lot of work. The excitement of being a
pet star comes with its own set of challenges and responsibilities. With a sense of resignation
but also determination, Frida prepares herself for the day's tasks, reminding
herself that her efforts are appreciated and will lead to more moments of joy,
just like the dream she had dancing in the garden.
As the morning unfolds, Manow arrives at Fey’s place to pick up Frida for
her day at the studio. He
carefully transports her to the location, ensuring she’s comfortable and secure. The studio, bustling with
activity, is set up for the day’s shoot—a new advertisement promoting a range of hamster cages.
Once they arrive, Manow gently sets Frida’s cage in a cozy, well-lit corner of the studio,
making sure she’s
settled in and ready for the shoot. The studio team greets them warmly and begins preparing
the scene, arranging the hamster cages and setting up the cameras.
Frida, though a bit tired from her busy schedule, focuses on
her role as the star of the advertisement. With Manow’s support and encouragement,
she performs her part with grace, showcasing the features of the new hamster
cage. The
shoot proceeds smoothly, with Frida’s natural charm and the team’s professionalism creating a
compelling and engaging advertisement.
After a grueling six-hour shoot, Frida is exhausted and
emotionally drained. Manow,
understanding her fatigue, carefully transports her back to Fey’s flower shop, hoping that a
familiar place might offer some comfort. As they arrive, Manow gently sets
Frida’s
cage down and attempts to speak to her with a soothing tone, trying to offer
reassurance.
But when he picks her up to bring her closer, Frida,
overwhelmed and disoriented, suddenly bolts from his hand. She scurries away, her tiny
heart racing as she seeks refuge. The stress of her busy schedule and the constant pressure
have taken their toll, leaving her feeling trapped and unhappy.
Manow watches in concern as Frida darts around, realizing
how much she’s
struggling with the demands of her pet star life. With a heavy heart, he knows he
needs to find a way to support her better and ensure she can find some peace
and contentment in the midst of all the chaos.
Frida, feeling overwhelmed and desperate for a moment of
peace, scurries into the shadowy recesses beneath the stairs, seeking refuge
from the stress of her hectic day. In the dim, quiet corner, she huddles tightly, her tiny
body trembling slightly as she tries to find solace.
Manow and Fey, concerned and calling out for her, search the
flower shop anxiously. “Frida! Where are you?” Fey calls out with a mix of
worry and frustration, her voice echoing softly through the shop.
Manow, his tone filled with empathy, adds, “Frida, it’s okay. We just want to make sure
you’re
alright. Please
come out.”
Despite their gentle voices, Frida remains hidden, her
exhaustion and distress making it hard for her to emerge. Manow and Fey, realizing the
depth of her need for comfort, decide to give her a little space while keeping
a watchful eye, hoping that their patience and understanding will help her feel
safe enough to come out on her own.
Frida, deeply exhausted and in need of respite, settles down
in the shadowy nook beneath the stairs, curling up into a small, peaceful ball. The cool, dark space offers
her a brief sanctuary from the stresses of her busy life, and soon, her tiny
breaths become slow and steady as she drifts off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Fey, immersed in her flower shop duties, busily
tends to arrangements, orders, and customer requests. Her focus is split between
managing the shop and dealing with the myriad tasks of the day, leaving her
preoccupied with her work.
Manow, however, remains dedicated to finding Frida and ensuring
her well-being. He continues to search for
her quietly, occasionally glancing toward the shadowy corner where he last saw
her. With a
patient and caring demeanor, he keeps an eye on Frida, ready to provide comfort
and support as soon as she wakes, determined to make sure she’s safe and comfortable amidst
the day’s
busy demands.
After carefully locating Frida nestled in her shadowy
corner, Manow gently scoops her up, being mindful of her tired state. He softly reassures her as
he moves, "It's
okay, Frida. I'm
going to put you back in your cage where you’ll be safe and cozy."
Manow carefully places Frida back into her cage, ensuring
she’s
comfortable and secure. He arranges her bedding and offers a few soothing words,
hoping to make her feel more at ease. The familiar surroundings of her
cage provide a sense of safety and comfort, allowing her to rest more
peacefully.
As Manow closes the cage door, he gives Frida one last
reassuring look before stepping back. He then quietly resumes his tasks,
keeping a watchful eye on her to ensure she remains settled and content.
Fey, deeply focused on completing her tasks at the flower
shop, works diligently to wrap up the day’s responsibilities. She arranges the final
bouquets, processes the last of the orders, and tidies up the shop. With each task, she’s mindful of Frida’s recent distress and
determined to finish her work efficiently so she can return home and check on
her beloved pet.
As the sun begins to set and the shop starts to quiet down,
Fey makes sure everything is in order. She takes a moment to glance at
Frida’s
cage, ensuring that her little star is resting comfortably. With a sigh of relief, she
locks up the shop, ready to head home.
Once her work at the flower shop is completed, Fey hurries
home with the hope of finding Frida in better spirits. Her thoughts are with her
pet, and she looks forward to providing the comfort and attention Frida needs
after such a challenging day.
As Fey finishes up her tasks at the flower shop, she decides
it’s time
to bring a new cat into her home. She reaches out to Manow, who is still at the shop, and
requests his assistance. “Manow, could you please pick up a new cat from the pet
shop and bring it to my home? I think it’s time to add a new member to the
family.”
Manow, ever willing to help, agrees promptly. “Of course, Fey. I’ll head to the pet shop right
away and get the cat for you.”
After arranging for the new cat, Manow carefully transports
the feline from the shop to Fey’s home, ensuring the cat is safe and comfortable during
the journey. When
he arrives at Fey’s
place, he delivers the new pet with a smile, ready to help settle everything in
as Fey welcomes the newest member of her household.
As the new cat arrives at Fey’s home, it immediately captures everyone’s attention with its curious
and lively demeanor. Frida,
still recovering from her tiring day, is startled by the sudden presence of the
new feline. The
unfamiliar scent and the cat’s curious movements make her anxious.
Frida, already feeling overwhelmed, scurries to the far
corner of her cage, trying to find a safe retreat from the imposing presence of
the cat. Her
tiny heart races as she peers out, her whiskers twitching with fear.
Fey notices Frida's distress and quickly moves to reassure
her. “Oh,
Frida, I’m
sorry! I
didn’t
realize the new cat would scare you,” she says softly. She gently approaches Frida’s cage, speaking in soothing
tones to calm her down. “It’s okay, sweetheart. The cat will get used to being here,
and we’ll
make sure you’re
comfortable.”
Fey then ensures that the new cat is kept at a safe distance
from Frida’s
cage, allowing Frida to adjust to the new situation at her own pace.
Seeing how frightened Frida is, Fey decides to move her to a
more secluded and calm environment. Gently, she picks up Frida's cage and carries it to her
bedroom, ensuring a peaceful setting away from the new cat.
Once in the bedroom, Fey sets Frida’s cage in a quiet,
comfortable spot where she can rest undisturbed. She speaks softly to Frida,
reassuring her, “I
promise you, Frida, the cat will not come into this room. This will be your safe
space, and I’ll
make sure the new cat stays away.”
Fey takes extra care to close the bedroom door securely,
creating a safe sanctuary for Frida. She adjusts the bedding in Frida’s cage and offers her a few
comforting words. The
cozy, familiar environment of the bedroom provides Frida with a sense of
security, allowing her to gradually relax and feel safe once more.
As Frida settles into the safety of her new bedroom
sanctuary, she lets out a small, weary sigh and mutters softly to herself, “Hamster life is not easy.”
The weight of her busy schedule, the stress of being a pet
star, and the sudden introduction of a new feline companion have taken their
toll. Despite
the comforting environment Fey has created for her, Frida’s small, tired voice reflects
her longing for a simpler, more tranquil life.
Fey, hearing Frida’s quiet lament, sits beside the cage
and gently speaks, “I
know, Frida. You’ve been through a lot, and I’m sorry for all the stress. I promise to make things
better and ensure you have the rest and peace you need.”
With a soothing tone and a caring touch, Fey hopes to ease
Frida’s
worries, showing her that her well-being is a priority.
